Knotty Ash Community Primary School

Knotty Ash is a warm and welcoming single form entry school with a nursery. We have a deaf resource base for profoundly deaf children who are included for art lessons and events. We have an annual themed arts week and enjoy being involved in collaborative art projects. Year 5 have been exploring 'Habitats', using oil pastels to create an animal's natural habitat within the shape of its body. They have also used their studies on 'Crime & Punishment' as inspiration for their artwork, recreating shadowy photographs of themselves 'Behind Bars' in charcoal and chalk.

School Competition Entries

Our panel of art experts have selected their top three artworks from each school and public voting was open from 3rd April to 5th May 2017. The winners can be now be seen below and the first-placed entry from each school will be included in an exhibition at St Georges Hall in Liverpool starting on the 16th June.
